Allow me to introduce myself…
Hello Friends,
My name is Robert Lounds and I am running to represent you, the residents of Ward 5, as your Councillor on Aurora Town Council.
My wife and I have been residents of Aurora for the past 18 years where we have had the privilege of raising our two sons. I have served our community for many years as a coach and convenor for the Aurora Minor Hockey Association and currently as a member of the Town of Aurora Heritage Advisory Committee.
I am passionate about the community and am currently engaged in Council activities. I want to work for you, the residents and business owners of Ward 5 to continue to affect meaningful, positive change for our town.
I have gained a wealth of experience over the years working in a leadership role for a large corporation, including budget management, analytical skills, working in a team environment, process and policy innovation and, most important, consensus building. As an active, engaged resident and volunteer of this great town for 18 years, my experience and expertise will translate well to be an effective voice for you on Town Council. I look forward to representing not only Ward 5, but all the residents of Aurora by making informed decisions for the benefit of everyone.
With the implementiation of the ward system at this upcoming election, it will be an honour for me to serve my community as a member of Town Council representing the residents of Ward 5.
Why do I want to run for town council?
As a parent, the legacy we leave for our children and our next generation is important to me. Being part of the discussion, as a member of council, I will have the opportunity to do my part in shaping the future of our town from a fiscal, environmental, growth, team culture and community perspective.

The most effective way to accomplish goals is through collaboration and teamwork. Working together to achieve our goals is equally as important as the end result.
